Privacy Policy
Texters, operated by Phatlinks.com L.L.C.
The short version
Not sold, no ads
We use your information to run the service. We don’t sell it and don’t use it for advertising.
Your customers, your data
The texts and customer lists a business keeps in Texters belong to that business. We handle them on its behalf.
Texts aren’t secret
Texts travel over phone networks, which don’t encrypt them. Don’t use texting for anything secret.
You can delete

Who we are
Texters is a business texting service. Businesses use it to text their customers from the website texters.app and from the Texters apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. The website and the apps are one service with one account. This page explains what information the service handles, why, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it.
“We”, “us” and “Phatlinks” mean Phatlinks.com L.L.C., 1343 Main St, Ste 705, Sarasota, FL 34236-5630, USA, which operates Texters. “You” means a person who has a Texters account (a business owner or a team member). If you are a customer who receives texts from a business that uses Texters, see “If a business texts you through Texters” below.
1. Your account
When your business signs up on texters.app, or when a team member accepts an invitation, we keep:
- your name, your email address and, if you give it, your mobile number (for sign-in codes and two-step verification);
- your password, stored only as a one-way hash. If you sign in with Google on the website, Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture;
- your business details: business name, phone lines, settings, work schedule and team members;
- for businesses that register for business texting, the details the phone carriers require for that registration (business name, address, contact and use case).
We use this to create and secure your account, sign you in, and run the features you use.
2. Your customers’ information and your messages
A business that uses Texters puts information about its own customers into the service. This includes contact names, phone numbers, email addresses, notes, tags and custom fields, imported lists, appointments, and the texts and pictures it sends and receives. It also includes opt-outs (for example when a customer replies STOP) and the numbers it blocks or reports.
The business decides what to collect about its customers and why. For that information, Phatlinks acts on the business’s behalf as its service provider. We use it only to provide Texters to that business: to deliver and store its messages, show its inbox, run the campaigns and appointment reminders it sets up, honour opt-outs, and keep the service secure and lawful. We don’t use one business’s customer data for any other business, for advertising, or to sell.
Message delivery
To send and receive texts, we pass the phone numbers, message text and any attached pictures or files to the phone carriers and messaging providers that connect us to the phone networks. They deliver the messages for us.
3. If a business texts you through Texters
If a business texts you through Texters, it is that business that holds your number and your messages, and its own privacy notice applies. To stop its texts, reply STOP. For anything else (a copy of your information, a correction, or deletion), ask the business first. If you can’t reach it, write to privacy@phatlinks.com and we will pass your request to the business and help it respond.
4. The apps (iPhone, iPad, Android)
The apps show the same account as the website. In addition:
- Photos and files. If you attach a photo (from your library or the camera) or a file to a message, the app uploads it so it can be sent. The app asks for camera and photo permission only when you use these features. It does not read your phone’s own contact list or calendar.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, your device gets a notification token, which we store with your account and device model. When a customer texts you, we send a notification with the customer’s name and the first 100 characters of the message. It passes through the service that relays our app notifications and then through Apple (iPhone, iPad) or Google (Android), which deliver it to your device. The relay service doesn’t keep the notification’s content after sending it. We delete a token when you delete your account, or when Apple or Google tell us it no longer works.
- App updates. When the app checks for an update, it sends the service that delivers our app updates a random ID created for that installation of the app, the app version and the operating system. Nothing else about you is sent.
- The apps contain no advertising and no third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools. The apps sell nothing. Subscriptions are bought only on texters.app.
5. AI replies
Texters can suggest or write replies with AI.
- Automatic replies run only on phone lines where the business has turned AI replies on. When a customer texts such a line, we send that message to our AI provider to draft the reply. We also send recent messages from the conversation and the business information the business has given Texters.
- Suggested replies: when you ask for a suggestion, the same kind of information is sent.
The AI provider processes this for us. Under its standard terms for business use, it doesn’t train its models on what we send and keeps it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. We don’t use your messages to train AI models ourselves.
6. How we measure use of Texters
We keep a record of how the service is used: sign-ups, the days an account is active on the website or in an app, onboarding steps, the first message sent, features used, team invitations, and billing events such as a trial starting, a payment or a cancellation. These records are stored under your account number in our own product-analytics system, which we run ourselves on our own servers. They don’t contain message text or your customers’ details. We use them to understand and improve Texters. We haven’t set a time limit for these records yet.
7. Payments
Subscriptions are bought and managed only on texters.app. Payments are processed by Stripe: you enter your card details on Stripe’s systems, never ours. From Stripe we keep a customer reference, the card’s brand and last four digits, your plan, and your payment and invoice history.
9. Logs and security
Our servers keep technical logs to run the service, fix problems and stop abuse. These include IP addresses, device and browser type, the pages and features requested (including what you type into contact search), and errors. Web server logs are kept for 14 days. Application logs can include phone numbers and message text; we don’t yet delete them on a fixed schedule.
How we protect information
- Everything between your browser or app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). This includes the connection to the phone carriers and messaging providers we use.
- Text messages themselves are not encrypted once they travel over the phone networks. Neither we nor the networks can change that.
- Messages are stored on our servers in readable form so that the business can see them and Texters can deliver them. Texters is not end-to-end encrypted.
- Only the people who run Texters can access its systems.
- Texters is not designed for health records or other highly sensitive information. Don’t send that kind of information by text.
10. Who else sees information
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. Others see it only in these cases:
- Service providers working for us: our hosting and email providers, the phone carriers and messaging providers, the notification relay and Apple/Google, the app-update service, the AI provider, the web-font host and Stripe. Each one gets only what it needs for the job described above.
- The business you work for: team members and the business owner see the business’s shared inbox, contacts and campaigns.
- Phone carriers and the industry registry for business texting, which receive a business’s registration details when it registers to text.
- The law: when we must, to answer a valid legal request, or to protect people or the service.
- A buyer: if Phatlinks or Texters is sold or merged, the information would move to the new owner under this policy, and we would tell account holders first.
11. How long we keep things
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account and business details | Until the account is deleted |
| Your customers’ contacts, messages, pictures, files, campaigns, appointments | Until the business deletes them or its account is deleted. There is no automatic time limit. |
| Notification tokens | Until you delete your account or the token stops working |
| Product-use records (section 6) | No time limit set yet |
| Web server logs | 14 days |
| Application logs | No fixed schedule yet (see section 9) |
| Database backups | Deleted information can remain in our backups; we don’t yet remove old backups on a fixed schedule |
| Record of a deletion request (email, time, IP address) | We keep a record of each deletion request |
| Invoices and payment records | 7 years, for tax and accounting |
12. Deleting your account
- In the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. You’ll be asked for your password. If you sign in without a password, use the form instead.
- On the web: texters.app/delete-account. Fill in the form with the email address on your account. We handle requests within 30 days and confirm by email.
What happens
- If you are the business owner, deleting your account deletes the business’s workspace with it: its contacts, messages, pictures, files, campaigns, appointments, phone-line settings and team.
- If you are a team member, only your own account is deleted. The messages you sent stay with the business, because they belong to it.
- Your subscription: cancel it in Billing on texters.app before deleting your account. Deleting the account does not cancel it yet.
What we keep after deletion: invoices and payment records, the record of the deletion request, and backups and logs as described in section 11.
13. Your choices and rights
You can see and change most of your information in your account settings. You can also ask us (privacy@phatlinks.com) to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or stop a particular use of it. We answer within 30 days, and we may need to confirm it’s you first.
Depending on where you live (for example in California, other US states, the UK or the EU), you may have more rights under local law. We will honour them, and we won’t treat you differently for using them. If you’re in the UK or EU and unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
For your customers’ information, the business is the one that decides. We will help it answer its customers’ requests (section 3).
14. Where information is processed
Texters runs on servers in the United States. If you use it from another country, your information is transferred to and processed in the US.
15. Children
Texters is a service for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect information about children as account holders. If you think a child has an account, write to privacy@phatlinks.com and we will delete it.
16. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the effective date and add a line to “Changes so far” below. If a change is significant, we will also tell account holders by email or in the service before it takes effect.

Changes so far
- October 21, 2026: rewrote the policy so it describes how Texters actually works, for the website and the iPhone, iPad and Android apps. It now names Phatlinks.com L.L.C. and the right contact details, and it removes claims that were wrong (end-to-end encryption, encryption and certification standards, processing outside the US). It also adds AI replies, app notifications, product-use records, logs and how long we keep things.
